- Royal Dutch Shell is making a move to enter the hydrocarbon-rich areas of Kenya and Mozambique with a proposed offer to acquire Cove Energy plc for US$1.56 billion (GBP 992.4 million).
- Dallas-based TEAK Midstream LLC is constructing over 200 miles of natural gas gathering and residue delivery pipelines and an adjoining 200 million cubic feet per day cryogenic gas processing plant in South Texas to serve gas producers operating in the Eagle Ford Shale play.

- Cabot Oil & Gas Corp. has promoted Todd L. Liebl to the new position of vice president, land and business development, and appointed Deidre L. Shearer to corporate secretary and managing counsel, replacing Lisa A. Machesney, vice president, who is retiring next month.
